An open letter to educators from Andy & Nichole
An open letter to educators:
Nichole and I want to take a moment to apologize to educators who were hurt and offended by a segment we did on the air Wednesday of this week. While, not ever teacher listening was offended by our conversation, some were, and for that we are sorry. If you missed the segment, please know there was no intended malice for the profession, but rather a discussion at how short the tempers are in today’s viral and social news and information climate. Please know our hearts hurt, your anger was heard, and not ignored. Our show has a goal of open, honest, and authentic conversations and listener interactions. As a listener it is your right to provide feedback, and we welcome it…ALWAYS. Thank you for your feedback and over time I will work with a thoughtful mind to earn you back as not just a listener, but as a fan! -Andy
First let me say, thank you for writing into the show with your thoughts. I very much echo Andy’s statement. I am very sorry that the segment ended on such a negative tone. It was actually not my intention.
After listening back to the audio after the show I have now realized my tone and presentation were not what I originally intended. For that, I do apologize. As for the prompting of calls from parents, Andy & I were making a social observance. The timing, I see now, may not have been the best.
I do have the utmost respect for teachers. Your profession is undervalued, underappreciated and overly scrutinized. Your anger has been heard. I do hope that over time we can gain you back as a listener and friend of the show. ~Nichole
