DiedInHouse.com -- do you know what happened in your house (Podcast)
A house with a past as a site of violent death is a horror movie staple, perhaps most famously in The Amityville Horror, but even if you're not afraid of ghosts and evil spirits, you still might be creeped out if someone died in your house or a house you're considering buying, and may want to know about it. Enter DiedinHouse, a website that, at a cost of $11.99, will search 118 million public records to see if your current or prospective address shows up in connection with any deaths, violent or otherwise. You'll get a report documenting who died in the house, if anyone, and if known, how they died. If you don't do the research on your own, real estate agents and sellers in most cases aren't required to disclose that there was a death on the premises unless it was the direct result of the house's condition or a newsworthy event.
